Have you gotten to know your candidates? Join Thrive's candidate forums to learn more! Sign up to attend (all are virtual or have a virtual option) or see recordings of past forums on our candidate forum webpage.
Do you have all the information you need to vote and encourage others in your communities to vote? Thrive can supply you with any voter outreach materials you might need and can even add your branding to them. Email me to request information or join us on Wednesday for our next VEOAC meeting.
Do you know what your new districts are? See below for map links to see how districts have changed.
Do you know when to vote? Voting starts May 9! The last day to vote is June 7.
Do you know that some local races will be decided in June, even though these are called June “primaries”? The language is confusing, but in all County-level races, if any one candidate gets a majority of the votes (i.e., more than 50%), the race is decided in June.
Thrive is a nonpartisan and non-endorsing organization. We treat all candidates equally. We value voter engagement and voter turnout, and we want to give the voters as much information as possible to make decisions before voting starts.
Are you prepared to respond to an emergency?
When responding to an emergency, do you know how to coordinate with nonprofit and faith-based organizations, government agencies, and the private sector? Does your organization have a continuity of operations plan?
With the support of the local philanthropic, public sector, and nonprofit community, Thrive is launching a San Mateo County COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disaster). The COAD will enhance community resilience and facilitate communication, coordination, and collaboration across sectors during all phases of a disaster. Please take our (very short!) survey to help us understand your needs and capabilities to prepare for and respond to an emergency! The survey deadline is Friday, April 22.
We hope that you are ready to see us in person at our Earth Day Social on Thursday or our Leadership Circle Luncheon for executives next week.
Warmly,
Petra Silton, Director of Advocacy & Education

COAD Survey
Thrive Alliance: San Mateo County COAD Survey
The pandemic has made crystal clear the value of preparation and collaboration during times of crisis. In light of this, Thrive is creating a network called a COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disaster) in San Mateo County. This COAD will enhance community resilience, and facilitate communication, coordination, and collaboration among nonprofit and faith-based organizations, government agencies, and the private sector during all phases of a disaster.
As a trusted network of over 200 nonprofits, Thrive is well-positioned to support the mission of the COAD and coordinate among the nonprofit, government, and private sectors. With the financial support of the philanthropic community, we’ve taken on this role to strengthen the ability of San Mateo County to respond effectively to disasters. But we need your help!
Please complete the survey below to help us understand your organization’s needs and capabilities to prepare for and respond to an emergency (e.g. earthquake, wildfire, pandemic, etc).
We’re in this together and together we can do more!
In partnership with other nonprofits, Thrive will be hosting a series of candidate forums to elevate the most pressing issues of nonprofits and their communities in San Mateo County. Please join us!
