Voter Education and Outreach Advisory Committee (VEOAC) Meeting

VEOAC will be featuring short presentations by Bay Area leaders in voter outreach. Andrea Gil, the Program Coordinator at Youth Leadership Institute (YLI), will be presenting how she engages the community in voter outreach & civic participation advocacy. Andrea leads the Youth Empowerment Training Series, where youth leaders learn to engage with their local community.

 

Thrive will also introduce our Elections Education Toolkit Stipend program.

 

Co-chaired by San Francisco Peninsula People Power, the County Elections Office, and Thrive Alliance.

 And how else can we accomplish these goals?

 

This will also be an opportunity to hear updates from the County on funding as well as other expanded learning opportunities.

Leadership Council San Mateo County: Leadership CORPS Program & Emerging Leaders Program

Application Deadline: Mon, May 2

 

Leadership Council San Mateo County is now accepted applications for their Leadership CORPS Program and Emerging Leaders Program. These 10-month immersive experiences will empower experienced and emerging leaders from the business, nonprofit, and government sectors with the knowledge, skills, and relationships they need to advance and deepen their leadership and community impact. Both programs are framed around countywide issues and are led by influential leaders from SMC and beyond. To apply or nominate someone for a Leadership Council SMC program click here. 

 

Note: The Leadership CORPS Program is for senior-level leaders and the Emerging Leaders Program is for rising leaders who have demonstrated leadership potential.

Philanthropic Ventures Foundation's Selection Committee is looking for nominations for female identifying individuals who have shown outstanding courage in their lives to recieve this year's Women of Courage Award.This award honors young women with a $25,000 award intended to further their efforts to serve others. 

 

Note: The Women of Courage Award is open to young female-identifying individuals (18-30 years old) who live, work or volunteer in San Mateo County, and who demonstrate courage in a professional or personal capacity, make an impact, and exemplify the characteristics of compassion, resilience and integrity.

County of San Mateo: Immigrant Inclusion Survey

Deadline: Sun, March 20

 

To gain insight on the needs and challenges of our immigrant community, the County of San Mateo and the Office of Community Affairs invites immigrants (living, working, or going to school in San Mateo County) to take their Immigrant Inclusion Survey. Results from this survey will tell them about the barriers faced, gaps in services, and which programs are working for immigrants in San Mateo County.

 

Note: This survey is available in 12 languages. All responses are anonymous and confidential, which means nobody will know who took the survey or how they answered the questions. All questions are optional, so you can skip anything you do not want to share.

The Parent Venture: Collaborative & Proactive Solutions - Moving from Power and Control to Collaboration and Problem Solving
