Join Thrive to learn more about how the San Mateo County Transportation sector is addressing climate change. We will discuss the future of public transportation as more people return to commuting. We will cover transit infrastructure including bicycle, pedestrian, and public transit options, charging and zero-emission transportation, and how transportation decisions affect low-income communities.
Redwood City is excited to announce the launch of The People’s Budget. Redwood City wants to hear from you on how to spend $1 million of one-time funds to positively serve or improve the community. Share your ideas through the online Idea Submission Form.

Silicon Valley Community Foundation: Apply for an Arts & Culture Community Action Grant
Deadline: Fri, February 11
Silicon Valley Community Foundation is now accepting applications from nonprofit organizations for the SVCF's Arts & Culture Community Action Grants. These grants support BIPOC- (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) led arts and cultural organizations and allied organizations that prioritize nurturing artistic and cultural expressions, building community, partnering to create community-driven solutions and catalyzing social change in communities of color.

San Mateo County Health: Health Officials Encourage Boosters, Masking and Testing
Guidance on masking, including types of masks and respirators used to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, has been updated on the CDC website. In addition, the booster clinic at the Event Center has updated its schedule. The clinic will no longer be open on Tuesdays but will continue to operate on Wednesdays through Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. All County-operated clinic locations are listed here. Appointments via MyTurn are suggested but not required.

The cities of Burlingame and San Bruno are now participating in the Choose Local San Mateo County program, joining Daly City, Half Moon Bay, Menlo Park, Millbrae, Redwood City, San Carlos, San Mateo, South San Francisco and North Fair Oaks. Choose Local empowers residents, workers, and visitors in San Mateo County to shop local and invest in independent businesses that create local jobs and economic vitality. App users are rewarded with SMC Points for supporting local and independent businesses recovering from pandemic impacts.
