SPUR: Managing Disasters - Community Resilience Organizing
Tues, July 18, 12:30 - 1:30 pm
Community organizations have crucial roles to play in advancing communities’ capacity to withstand, adapt to, and recover from disruption events. Their deep ties to the community and their community well-being programs help them accurately identify and address local needs during emergencies. When these organizations collaborate during emergencies (flooding, fires, earthquakes), community outcomes drastically improve.
Join the discussion with AnaMiscolta, Director of Community Resilience at Thrive, to learn about Thrive’s work in San Mateo County and about how you can support or initiate collaborative disaster preparedness and response in your local community.
Attend the Voter Education and Outreach Committee (VEOAC) meeting featuring Eric Sapp, a Staff Attorney from Legal Services for Prisoners with Children, discussing their efforts to restore voting rights for communities impacted by the criminal justice system.
We will also hear from San Mateo County Elections Office.
Co-chaired by San Francisco Peninsula People Power, the County Elections Office, and Thrive Alliance.
