Are you passionate about transforming San Mateo County into a better place for all? Have you been thinking about running for the school board, city council, Board of Supervisors, or another office? Along with Leadership Council San Mateo County, Thrive invites you to hear the stories of local community members who have run for office to make a change. Their journeys will demystify the process and inspire you to run for office.

Thrive Resource Room offers a monthly virtual space to hear about Thrive updates and learn about free and affordable community resources for your organization. Join us this month to learn about free nonprofit facility repairs and leadership opportunities.
This session will feature:
Free nonprofit facility repairs: Robert Skelton, Corporate and Community Relations Manager for Rebuilding Together Peninsula will discuss nonprofit facility renovation work (landscaping, painting, etc).
Nonprofit leadership program: Leadership Council, San Mateo County will share how to engage with their Leadership CORPS Program and Emerging Leaders Program, 10-month immersive experiences which empower experienced and emerging leaders from the business, nonprofit, and government sectors with the knowledge, skills, and relationships they need to advance and deepen their leadership and community impact. Both programs are framed around countywide issues and are led by influential leaders from SMC and beyond.
More resources to come!
If you have services or information that you would like to share at our next Thrive Resource Room meeting, please email Keirstan. We encourage you to send staff members and volunteers (especially new ones!) to one of our monthly sessions to ensure that they are taking advantage of Thrive's resources and opportunities.

The San Mateo County chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby invites you to attend a virtual forum in which the candidates for California's 15th Congressional District Election will answer questions on the policies that they would support if they were elected. Environmental and climate issues are of key concern to voters in our district, so please take this opportunity to find out how our potential representatives would address these issues and work for a stable climate future if elected to Congress.
Note: Please submit only one response per organization.
San Mateo County Strong: Microfood Business Grant
The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors recently approved a new round of Microfood Business Grants to help micro food operators (cottage food operators, food trucks, food carts, caterers, commissaries, or incubator kitchens) that have not received any assistance from the County, State, or Federal COVID-19-relief programs in the past 12 months. Qualifying establishments can use the funds to offset losses in revenue and past debt due to the COVID-19 pandemic state shutdown orders beginning in March 2020, ensure continued operation, and assist in covering current business operating expenses.
