Thrive RISE (Resilience in Shared Emergencies): Communication and Coordination Between Nonprofits and Government in Disasters

Strong partnerships between government agencies and nonprofits are a crucial component of equitable disaster response and recovery. This 2-hour panel and discussion hosted at the Regional Operations Center in Redwood City will provide an overview of how nonprofits and government effectively communicate before, during, and after disasters to improve community outcomes.

Two-Year Spending Plan Prioritizes Homelessness, Emergency Preparation, Equity
The County of San Mateo’s $7.7 billion recommended budget for the next two fiscal years seeks to strengthen the social safety net as the County prepares for an uncertain economic outlook. County Executive Mike Callagy unveiled the spending plan that will be the subject of three days of public hearings before the Board of Supervisors, June 26-28, 2023. To learn more click here.
San Mateo County Receives $5 Million State Grant to Improve Housing for Farmworkers
Governor Gavin Newsom has announced the awarding of $16 million in grants to increase homeownership for farmworkers in California. Furthermore, San Mateo County will receive $5 million to purchase homes for survivors of the tragic Half Moon Bay farm shooting in January. To learn more click here.
