Thrive Holiday Mix & Mingle: Game Night with Your Legislative Aides

New Date: Wed, December 15, 3:00 - 4:30 pm


Join Thrive for our fifth annual Holiday Mix & Mingle on Wed, December 15, 3:00 - 4:30 pm. This very special event will be filled with fun, games, prizes and great opportunities for the nonprofit and public sectors to mix and mingle! Don’t forget to wear your most festive holiday sweater. Everyone who registers will receive a special holiday cookie recipe and a yummy drink recipe!

Note: This event will be held virtually. The Zoom link will be sent to registrants one day prior to the meeting. All nonprofit staff and board members, as well as County and state level staff members, are encouraged to attend.

In this meeting, we will look at the climate components narrowed down from our previous meeting and look at goals best suited for collaboration and advocacy efforts. San Francisco Nonprofit Sustainability Initiative: Acquisition Grants

Deadline: Fri, January 21

 

Applications are now being accepted for the The San Francisco Nonprofit Sustainability Initiative grant. This grant is designed to support one-time expenses for eligible nonprofit acquisition and lease stabilization projects. Up to $2.5 million is available to fund:

  • Acquisitions: Grants up to $1 million for eligible commercial real estate acquisitions or 55-year+ leases
  • Organizations with leases for 3-4 years: Grants up to $50,000 for lease stabilization costs
  • Organizations with leases 5+ years: Grants up to $75,000 for lease stabilization costs

Technical Assistance is also available to support real estate readiness and financial planning. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all available slots are filled.

PenCleanEnery Heat Pump Water Heater Rebates (Twitter)

Peninsula Clean Energy Has Big Rebates for Electric Heat Pump Water Heaters!

If you live in San Mateo County, you could be eligible for $2,000 or more if you replace your gas water heater with a heat pump water heater. If you are a CARE/FERA customer, or if you are upgrading your electrical panel, you could be eligible for even bigger rebates. Why switch? Heat pump water heaters are cleaner, safer and more energy-efficient than gas water heaters. Learn more about the rebates at the Peninsula Clean Energy website.

 

Note: If your electrical panel needs to be updated to accommodate the HPWH. You can be eligible for up to $1500 additional rebates.

Community Vision: The Path to Ownership for Nonprofits

Tues, December 14, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

 

When organizations that are deeply rooted in their communities own real estate, they build power, wealth, and avenues for local self-determination. Join Community Vision and Boston Private for a chance to learn what it takes to get your organization ready for a real estate purchase. They will cover organizational capacity needs, review funding and financing options, and provide a window into what it means to be a property owner. Participants will take away a better sense of what it takes to put an organization on a path to buying a building.

 

Note: This event is presented free of charge by Boston Private and Community Vision.
