Request for Proposals: 2025 San Mateo County General Election Voter Engagement Grant Opportunity
The Request for Proposals for the 2025 San Mateo County General Election is now open, with the application period running from July 22nd to August 16th, 2024. The initiative aims to inspire civic participation and ensure all voices are represented in democracy. SVCF and San Mateo County are offering grants of up to $20,000 to support voter engagement projects, focusing on community education, nonpartisan outreach, and targeting precincts with low voter turnout, especially those who may be unhoused or vulnerable. It's specified that the grants should strictly avoid any partisan activity or advocacy for any candidate or ballot issue, as well as political advocacy efforts or promoting religion. The aim is to gather innovative ideas from nonprofits, public agencies, research institutions, and community organizations serving San Mateo County through the RFP approach.
