Thrive Alliance & SVCN are looking for experienced professionals to support the capacity building of the Racial Equity Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) Hub in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties' nonprofit sector.
Thrive & SVCN are inviting speakers -- panelists, presenters, trainers, and facilitators -- to submit proposals on topics including but not limited to:

Our vision for the local nonprofit sector prioritizes community access by consistently and mindfully offering professional language translation and interpretation services for its programs and services.
The Translation Services Hub offers nonprofits free language translation and interpretation services in Spanish, Chinese, and Filipino. Learn more about this service or put in a request here.
San Mateo County's Minimum Wage to Reach $17.46 by 2025
Starting from January 1, 2025, the minimum wage in unincorporated areas of San Mateo County will be $17.46 per hour, with annual adjustments based on the consumer price index. This wage increase aims to benefit various low-wage workers, including fast-food employees and agricultural laborers. The minimum wage applies to all workers, regardless of immigration status, and will be enforced by the California Labor Commissioner's Office. Exceptions include a lower wage for "learners" during the first 160 hours of employment. The County's Executive Office is actively working to ensure awareness of the new minimum wage among both employees and employers.
Silicon Valley Community Foundation is thrilled to announce that it is offering free use of its community conference room space to nonprofit organizations. The foundation's new space on Castro Street in Mountain View features conference rooms that are available to nonprofit and government organizations.

The Office of Community Partnerships and Strategic Communications (OCPSC) is teaming up with the US Census Bureau to host a series of virtual workshops aimed at providing data learning opportunities for community partners. The workshops will focus on deepening understanding of Census data and its use in decision making, resource allocations, and communication campaign adjustments. The workshops will cover topics such as languages spoken at home within California, English proficiency rates, and the growing number of speakers of other languages. The event aims to be inclusive and accessible, with accommodations available upon request. Citizens Environmental Council: Fly the Sustainable Skies of SFO

Join the Citizens Environmental Council for a free Zoom event called "Fly the Sustainable Skies of SFO". Two experts from San Francisco International Airport, Erin Cooke and Courtney Carroux, will discuss the airport's sustainability efforts and its goal to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030. They will also share information on how passengers can travel more sustainably and find the most sustainable flights. SFO is making significant efforts to cut down on carbon emissions, including converting buildings and ground vehicles to electric power and using Sustainable Aviation Fuel for all 54 airlines, which can reduce carbon emissions by up to 80%. Additionally, the airport has banned plastic water bottles and foodware, and is exploring the use of reusables for onsite dining.
