Engagement, Evaluation, and Equity: Best Practices for Gathering and Using Feedback
Wed, April 9, 10:00 - 11:00 am, Virtual
Great missions require great data. But how do you ensure the data you're collecting truly reflects the needs, experiences, and impact of your organization? Whether it’s understanding how clients engage with your services, assessing the experiences of your volunteers, or evaluating what’s working (or not) in your operations, gathering actionable feedback is key.
In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn how exemplar nonprofit leaders leverage feedback data to drive fundraising success, inform strategic decisions, and advance equity goals. We’ll share proven strategies and lessons from the field, covering essential topics like survey design, effective data collection techniques, ensuring confidentiality, reporting and visualization, and fostering organizational change.
Join us for a post-election debrief, where we’ll reflect on the recent election results and identify key takeaways. We’ll review voter turnout data, especially in low-turnout precincts.
This meeting is proudly co-chaired by San Francisco Peninsula People Power, the County Elections Office, and Thrive Alliance. We look forward to your active involvement!

Major Restructuring at HHS: 20,000 Job Cuts and Consolidation of Services
On March 27, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) revealed a restructuring plan that will eliminate 10,000 employees, in addition to 10,000 voluntary departures, as part of an effort by the Trump Administration to increase efficiency and save $1.8 billion. The cuts will affect various agencies, including the FDA (3,500 employees), CDC (2,400 employees), NIH (1,200 employees), and CMS (300 employees). The plan will also consolidate HHS's divisions from 28 to 15, significantly reduce regional offices, and combine several key offices. This restructuring will lead to the shutdown of the Health Resources and Services Administration and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, which are crucial for community health funding and support services.
